Beckett and Miles Newborn Session

Monday, September 22, 2014

There's something about little boys. Their smiles, their cuddles, the loud and beautiful way they laugh. I can't BELIEVE I'm lucky enough to be the mom of two wonderful little boys. Over the last twelve days, Ryan, Beckett, and I have been falling more and more in love with our sweet Miles. Miles is gentle, strong, and cute as can be with the biggest eyes and squishiest little smiles. One of my very favorite things about Miles though is the relationship he already shares with his brother. He looks B square in the eye when Beckett is singing/talking to him, and it absolutely melts my heart. Even though this transition has been at times overwhelming for B, Beckett loves his little brother the way I've been praying he would: he's protective, tender, and understands that when Miles is crying, we need to "figure it out" (usually the solution is "mommy's milk"). Miles is bringing out the best in Beckett (in between the ever-essential two year old temper tantrums, of course), and I can only hope Beckett will also bring out the best in his little brother. That they'll grow up alongside one another, continually building one another up, and (prayerfully) pointing one another to the God who loves them more fiercely than they could ever imagine. I can't wait to witness their relationship unfold. <3

I'll finish with two shots of Beckett singing a rousing rendition of "Bah Bah Black Sheep" to Miles, because he does it whenever Miles is upset, and it simultaneously breaks my heart and cracks me up. I'm just sorry I didn't get a video of this performance.
